The World’s First Water Rugby Tournament
The Ovalies Unilasalle association were present at the Waterugby tournament which took place in Toulouse, at the Port de la Daurade on September 8, 9, 10. A weekend full of meetings and good humor, under the sign of sport and conviviality.
What is Waterugby?
A 15-minute match, which takes place on a floating field of 35×45 meters, with players who do not hesitate to wet the jersey to claim victory. Indeed, to score a try, all you have to do is… take the plunge! An original principle, but with rules that remain similar to those of Rugbyç with the only difference being the removal of the touch and the in-goal.
A tournament where everyone is invited
Young and old, men and women, amateur or grand champion, this tournament is accessible to everyone and for everyone! A concept and values similar to those of our association of Ovalies Unilasalle. Just like us, a category of Wheelchair Rugby has been set up to raise awareness of the Handisport movement and encourage the practice of people with disabilities.
The Unilasalle Ovalies at the heart of the action!
Under the names of Renaud DETHEZY and Clémentine RANQUET, the Ovalies Unilasalle association was thus able to discuss with many personalities from the rugby world such as Louis Picamoles, François Trinh-Duc, or even Vincent Clerc and Marc Lievremont, both former sponsors of the Ovalies Unilasalle tournament.
